SNAC Privacy Policy

SNAC strictly complies with regulations on personal information protection detailed in related legislation, which an information communication service provider must abide by. These acts include the following: Act on the Promotion of Information and Communication Network Utilization and Information Protection, Personal Information Protection Act, Communication Privacy Protection Act, and the Telecommunications Business Act. In addition, the company provides services in compliance with international standards such as the OECD Privacy guidelines.

1. What is SNAC 's Privacy Policy?

SNAC collects and uses the personal information based on the user's consent, and guarantees user's right (Information Self-determination).

SNAC complies with the relevant laws, regulations and guidelines of the Republic of Korea which all information and telecommunication service providers must comply with.

"Personal Information Handling Policy" means the guidelines that SNAC must follow to protect users' valuable personal information so that users can be assured while using SNAC’s services.

This privacy statement applies to the SNAC Web and application as well.

2. Personal Information Collection

In order to provide the service, we collect very limited personal information. During the sign up process and throughout the use of the service, we collect a limited amount of personal information through our homepage, application, or other program to provide the following services.

SNAC Service

[Required] Phone number, Phone book (third person’s contact number and name), Name (nickname), Profile picture, Personal Location Data (Location based on SIM card, GPS, IP address), IMEI Number (will be used in case the other provided information is not sufficient to verify user’s identity).

[Required] Email, Password, Name (nickname), Profile picture, SNAC Service friend list, Phone number

[Optional] Date of birth, Gender

Customer Center

[Required] Telephone number, SNAC Account (email)

Sometimes in order to provide extra features, apart from the information available in a user’s SNAC account, additional information may be requested after a user’s consent.

*Required fields are necessary to perform the essential functions of a service. While optional fields do not affect the service use itself, they are collected further to provide additional value to the user

Procedure for collecting personal information is as follows

When collecting personal information, we will notify you in advance and ask for your consent, and collect personal information through the following methods.

  • 1) When the user agrees to provide and enters the personal information by him or herself while registering or while using the service
  • 2) When a user provides personal information to affiliated services, partners, and/or organizations
  • 3) When a user is seeking help from customer center through website, email, fax, or phone call
  • 4) When a user participates in the online/offline event
  • 5) Some information, such as the device’s information, is automatically generated and collected while using the PC, web, or mobile application

The personal information that you provide is collected while using the app or a related program. It is gathered through the information gathering tool. Some information is collected via a written form, fax, telephone, consultation bulletin board, e-mail, and/or may be received by our partner companies.

3. Using Collected Personal Information

We use personal information only for the following purposes: membership management, service improvement, and new service development. Personal information is utilized to identify users in SNAC, to connect SNAC accounts with a designated service, inviting friends, and providing content, or specific customized services.

Additionally, it is used for various other purposes such as member management and identification, prevention of unauthorized use of services provided by the company, confirmation of intent to subscribe, avoidance of duplicate membership, storage of records for dispute settlement, and organization of complaints.

It can also be used for a variety of purposes such as marketing and advertising, developing and customizing new services provided by the company, providing services according to statistical characteristics, validating services, providing opportunities to participate in events, providing advertising information, identifying access frequency, and showing statistics on service usage.

We only share your information with affiliated group companies to Futurepia. Except for the aforementioned case, SNAC will not share your data with third parties without your prior consent.

4. Personal Information Retention Period

Once data is stored on the Blockchain, that record is permanently stored in a chained database. That being said, data can be inserted but never deleted. If you request to delete an account for SNAC, your identity will be permanently stored in the block, preventing anyone from using it by initializing your mobile number, which will prevent your company or others from accessing the block forever.

5. How we notify you of changes

If there are any significant changes to this Privacy Policy, we will send you a notification before the change becomes effective. If you have an unresolved privacy or data use concern that we have not satisfactorily addressed, please contact [email protected]

6. Scope and Application of Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy applies to SNAC, as well as any other services accessible on the SNAC platform that have applied this Privacy Policy to their own use of such service (for example, users that use SNAC Login for third-party apps). Those SNAC services may have further privacy-related terms that you must agree to if you use those services. Any capitalized terms used in this Privacy Policy have the same meaning as the equivalent defined terms in the SNAC Terms of Service, unless they are defined otherwise in this Privacy Policy...

If you are using SNAC on behalf of a company, partnership, association, government, or other organization (your "Organization"), you agree to notify your Organization’s relevant individual owners, shareholders, directors, officers, managers, employees, and other relevant individuals whose Personal Information we collect or you provide to us ("Connected Persons") of the collection of their Personal Information, and you agree to obtain your Connected Persons’ consent to the processing of their Personal Information in accordance with this Privacy Policy as required by applicable laws and regulations. When this Privacy Policy refers to "you" or "your" this includes you and any Connected Persons.

7. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may from time to time revise or add specific instructions, policies and terms to this Privacy Policy. These instructions, policies and terms form part of this Privacy Policy.

Whenever we make any changes to this Privacy Policy that are important for you to know about, we will post the updated Privacy Policy at this link and notify you via SNAC or other means before the change becomes effective.

8. Types of Information We Process

"Log Data" is information that we automatically collect when you use SNAC, whether through the use of cookies, web beacons, log files, or scripts. This includes:

technical information, such as your mobile carrier-related information, configuration information made available by your web browser or other programs you use to access SNAC, your IP address and your device’s version and identification number.

information about what you have searched for and looked at while using SNAC, such as web search terms used, social media profiles visited, and details of other information and content accessed or requested by you in using SNAC.

general information about communications on the platform, such as the identity of a user that you have communicated with and the time, data and duration of your communications (but not the content of such communications, except where you are communicating with an Official Account or our support services team) and metadata, which means information related to items you have made available through SNAC, such as the date, time or location that a shared photograph or video was taken or posted.

"Shared Information" is information about you, or relating to you, that is voluntarily shared by you on SNAC. Shared Information may include postings that you make on SNAC (including your public profile, the lists you create, photos, videos and voice recordings as accessed with your prior consent through your device’s camera and/or microphone sensor), and/or any postings from others that you re-post and Location Data and Log Data associated with such postings. Shared Information also includes information about you (including Location Data and Log Data) that others who are using SNAC share about you.

9. Why We Process Your Information

User Profile Search Data. Record of search inquiries to provide quick access to previous searches.

10. Chat Data

The communications content between you and another user or group of users stored on your device and the devices of the users that you have sent communications to. We do not permanently store this information on our servers and it only passes through our servers so that it can be distributed to the users you have chosen to send communications to.

11. Personal Information within Your Content

If any of Your Content contains Personal Information (as defined in the SNAC Terms of Service), we and our affiliate companies may (subject to this Privacy Policy), the use of such Personal Information is in accordance with the "Your Content" section of the SNAC Terms of Service.

We will not transfer your Personal Information to any other third parties except as specified below, or in circumstances where you consent to such transfer.

We share your information with selected recipients who have a legal basis and valid jurisdiction to request such data. These categories of recipients include.

government, public, regulatory, judicial and law enforcement bodies or authorities: where we are required to comply with applicable laws or regulations, court orders, subpoenas or other legal processes, or otherwise have a legal basis to respond to a request for data from such bodies, and the requesting entity has valid jurisdiction to obtain your personal information.

In providing SNAC to you and assisting us in carrying out the purposes set out under the "Why We Process Your Information" section above, and in carrying out our obligations and enforcing our rights under the SNAC Terms of Service or this Privacy Policy and in the event of an internal restructuring of our or our affiliates businesses, or the sale of SNAC or any of its assets to a third party, the entity that consequently operates SNAC may be a different entity to us and we will transfer your information accordingly so that your service can continue.

12. Shared Information

SNAC enables certain information to be shared publicly with your SNAC contacts and other users of SNAC. At any time, you can hide your profile from public view and search by unchecking "allow find by phone number, SNAC ID or SNAC email" in your account settings. This means that other users of SNAC will not be able to find you. We refer to this type of information above as Shared Information. Shared Information will remain publicly-available for so long as you or a user that has shared such information retains it. Even after you delete Shared Information, it may still be separately cached, copied, or stored by, or remain public through, other users or third parties who are not affiliated with and not controlled by us.

Where you have requested that we erase your Personal Information that we have made public and there are grounds for erasure, we will use reasonable steps to inform others that are displaying the Personal Information or providing links to the Personal Information to erase it too.

Please carefully consider what you post and communicate through SNAC. In some instances, you may control what access the wider public has to your Shared Information via the privacy settings in SNAC.

13. Communications from Us

We may from time to time send you service-related announcements when we consider it necessary to do so (such as when we temporarily suspend SNAC for maintenance, security, privacy, or administrative-related communications). We send these to your email address or via SMS. You may not opt-out of these service-related announcements, which are not promotional in nature and are used solely to protect your account and keep you informed of important changes to SNAC.

14. Sensitive Personal Information

In some jurisdictions, certain types of Personal Information, such as information about your race, ethnic origin, religious or philosophical views, and/or personal health, is characterized as "sensitive" and is subject to stricter regulation than other types of Personal Information. Please note that content and information that you input to SNAC, such as photographs or information about your school or social activities, may reveal your sensitive Personal Information to others.

Before communicating any Personal Information of a sensitive nature within SNAC, please consider whether it is appropriate to do so.

By posting any Personal Information of a sensitive nature within SNAC, you are consenting to such information being available within the controls you have selected (for example, available to the audience of users you select as being capable of viewing your post or profile information).

15. Security of Your Personal Information

We use a variety of security technologies and procedures for the purpose of preventing loss, misuse, unauthorized access, or the disclosure of information.

Please be aware that despite our efforts, no data security measures can guarantee 100% security at all times. We do not guarantee the security of SNAC or any information you provide to us through SNAC.

All the Blockchain transactions are verified and recorded in a Blockchain through a distributed consensus network. You acknowledge and agree that the transaction details submitted through the service may get significantly delayed or may not be completed by the Blockchain.

SNAC always protects users’ rights.

To ensure your personal information is not lost, stolen, leaked, tampered with or damaged, SNAC securely stores and manages your personal information by encrypting it in accordance with relevant laws and internal policies.

We also do our best to prevent personal information from being leaked or damaged by hacking or computer viruses.

At any time, you (legal representative if you are under 14 years of age) can view or modify your personal information. However, account deletion is not possible due to nature of the Blockchain.

Please contact the customer center by telephone and e-mail to take care of any changes you need to make when using the service.

If you request correction of an error in your personal information, we will not use that information until the correction has been made.

Cookies may be used to provide PC-based services.

SNAC uses 'cookies' that store and retrieve your information from time to time to provide personalized and customized services.

Cookies are stored on your device as tiny text files that are sent to your browser by the server that runs the website.

Later, when you visit the website, the website server will read the cookies stored on your device to maintain your preferences and provide customized services.

When you visit a particular website, cookies help you access and use the website based on how you have accessed it previously. Cookies are also used to provide optimized advertising and customized information through your website visit history and usage.

Cookies do not automatically/actively collect your personal information, and you can choose to save or delete these cookies at any time.

Therefore, by choosing options in your web browser, you can choose to delete existing cookies, allow or block all cookies, and set preferences on individual cookies at the time of visiting a website.

However, if you refuse to store cookies, you may find it difficult to use some of the services, such as those that require login.

19. Rights of Users and Legal Representatives and Their Practice

You can view or modify your personal information at any time, and if you do not consent to SNAC's handling of your personal information, you may opt-out. However, in such cases, it may be difficult to use some or all of the services.

For SNAC users under the age of 14, the legal guardian has the right to view or modify the child's personal information, and the right to withdraw the consent of collection and use.

If you requested a correction of errors in the personal information, the concerned information will not be available or disclosed until the correction is made.

If you request to terminate an account, cancel a membership or delete personal information, SNAC will process the concerned information only as indicated in the section regarding period of retention and use of personal information, and will not be viewed or used for any other purpose.

20. Account Suspension

We may, at our sole discretion, suspend or terminate your access to the service without prior notice. In addition, if you violate the terms of this Agreement, your account and other related information and files may be deactivated.

21. 3rd Party Usage Agreement

For the purposes of using SNAC, I am aware of the following and agree to provide my personal information to Futurepia and SNAC.

4. Personal information retention and utilization period by Futurepia:

Personal information is retained and used during the period of service provided by Futurepia. Upon completing a user cancellation request (member withdrawal), user contributed information is destroyed so that the identity of the person cannot be excluded, viewed, or used. However, exceptions are as follows: (1) Data usage period minimum as determined by Korean Law. (2) IDs are stored in the Blockchain and therefore cannot be destroyed.

5. Users have the right to refuse consent to provide personal information to third parties. There are no disadvantages to a customer if he or she refuses consent. However, services may not be available or the services may be limited according to the purpose of the service.

6. General matters concerning the handling of personal information not listed above shall be in accordance with the privacy policy of the service.

I understand and agree to the consent of this third party provision.

22. SNAC’s efforts towards protection of personal information

SNAC stores and manages your personal information in encrypted form in accordance with related legislation and internal policy for the purpose of safety that will prevent loss, theft, leak, falsification or damage of personal information while handling such information.

Moreover, SNAC does its best to prevent leakage or damage of the user’s personal information by hacking or computer viruses.

In order to protect your personal information, we back up your data from time to time and use the latest anti-virus programs to prevent your personal information or data from being leaked, tempered with, or hacked. SNAC also uses encrypted communication to facilitate safe transmission of personal information on the network.

In addition, SNAC controls external intrusion utilizing intrusion prevention system, and does its best to be equipped with all possible technological instruments to ensure system security.

23. Pre-revision Notice

If the contents of this Privacy Policy are added, deleted or modified, the notice will be distributed out at least seven days before the amendment.

However, if significant changes are made to user rights, such as those including changes to collection, use of personal information, and disclosure of the information to third parties, notices will be distributed at least 30 days prior to the new changes being implemented.

Your consideration, understanding, cooperation, and suggestions are needed and are highly appreciated in the efforts towards enhancing your experience while using the Services and making SNAC a wonderful application. In the future, while taking into consideration the above mentioned Terms and focusing on providing users with a stable and smooth service, SNAC will continue to provide terms and conditions, operation policies, and information within the scope of these Terms.
